New Home Inspection Services
Electrics, Plumbing, Heating and the Presence of Asbestos Inspection Services
Buying a new home can be an expensive process, but it’s worth paying that little bit extra just to make sure the fundamentals such as your electrics, plumbing and heating systems are in good working order. This type of inspection is not something that would be included in a standard or advanced house buyers’ survey So, through Halo’s partners and subsidiaries, we offer a full inspection service to check and test not only your existing home but any new home you are considering.
Our home inspections service will provide a full report on the condition of the plumbing and heating system, electrics including the condition of the consumer unit with full recommendations regarding potential repairs and the need, if any, for an upgrade, but for properties built prior to 2000 we can also include an asbestos survey and sampling service and advise you on the location and the grade of any asbestos present in the property.
However, whilst there is no legal requirement for any asbestos to be removed, no work in the identified areas of your home can be given to any trade professionals you engage unless they are suitably trained and/or qualified but legislation denotes to landlords in particular, that anyone undertaking any work on a property containing asbestos must be made aware if and where it exists.
If after any asbestos is found to be present and you chose to have it removed, we can arrange for this work to be done plus all remedial repairs by either our in-house team or via a specialist contractor, depending on the type of asbestos found. This would include for example, garage roofs, Soil and vent pipes, kitchen floor tiles, back boiler flues, roof facia and soffits, roof under cloaks, and textured coatings such as artexed ceilings.
Here's what our Customers had to Say ★★★★★
"Until I discovered Halo Building Services on this site, I hadn't considered using a 'Project Manager' for this job. Having done so, I was generally very pleased with the outcome. The tradesmen Neil hired were up to a good standard and when one failed to do his work to the right standard, someone else was quickly engaged to put it right! Financially it worked out well with many areas done without the need for VAT. All costs and invoices were dealt with in a very efficient way and at each stage, you could see what the financial position was."Mr & Mrs S, Eye
"In 2016 we had a major house renovation overseen by Neil Aylin of Halo Building Services. We were very pleased with the way he handled the whole project and would thoroughly recommend his work. Neil had all the contacts needed and managed the whole project through from start to finish. At the beginning he talked the project through with us, costed it and then organised all the work and co-ordinated the provision of the right trades at the right time. He visited the site every day and was always at the end of the phone if we had any queries."Mr & Mrs H, Netherton
"We engaged Neil Aylin of Halo Building Services to manage the removal of an existing single storey extension / conservatory and replace it with a larger one. Halo were engaged on another project in the same road, so this gave us the opportunity to do some homework before engaging Neil and team. The flexibility of using a Project Manager meant that the job could evolve as it progressed to give us the outcome that we wanted. As the various trades were scheduled, we could discuss our exact requirements with Neil who could source the tradesman with the skills most suited."Mr & Mrs C, Lutton
"Using HALO Building Services took the strain out of project managing and organising multiple trades for my self-build house and allowed me the time to focus on cashflow, interior design and landscaping. HALO transformed a daunting task into a pleasurable experience. HALO were recommended to me by my timber frame contractor and soon proved they had local knowledge and contacts in all areas of the building industry and Building Control. They initiated design solutions, forged new relationships with 3rd party suppliers, liaised with the land developers, civil contractors, local Council and Utility Suppliers to ensure the works were carried out."Mr A, Hempsted Green, Peterborough
