Church Cottage Project
The cottage was extremely run down and in desperate need of repair and renovation. The existing rear extension was demolished and the back of the house was underpinned to take the additional load of a new rear extension and to prevent further strain caused by the weight of the roof spreading the outer walls apart, 2 steel purlins were carefully threaded through on gable end. The rest of this grade 2 listed house was completely renovated and restored using traditional materials such as reed and lime plaster. The new extension was sympathetically tied into the thatched roof using a cantilevered steel ridge beam on an ‘A’ frame construction. The interior was designed to be both quirky and traditional.
